Francesco Di Fiore, pianist and composer was born in Palermo, Italy. He began his concert career as a solo pianist and a pianist with various different ensembles. After studies at the "Vincenzo Bellini" Conservatory of Palermo, he continued his piano studies with Bruno Canino in Italy and in Austria with Harald Ossberger. For various years he has studied composition with Eliodoro Sollima. Thanks to a scholarship offered from the Czech Government, in 1993 he moved to Prague, Czech Republic, untill 1995 studying at the Academy of Music with Prof Peter Toperczer. In May '92 he was awarded absolute winner at the piano competition "Borgo Cortello" in Udine, Italy. In August 1993 he won the "XV Internationales Kammermusik Festival Austria Waldviertel" in Horn, Austria. His concert career started in 1996 leading him to perform in the large Italian venues and also in other countries (Germany, Hungary, Czech Rep., Austria, United States, France, United Kingdom). Francesco Di Fiore is composer of numerous pieces for piano solo, piano and orchestra, chamber music, vocal music, electronic and stage music for the spoken theatre. Between his more representative compositions are The Manhattan Suite, Vacuum Concerto, The West Coast Point Of Wiew, Strati, e the multimedia work "Visioni", for piano and electronics with video. His music is often performed in Italy and abroad, recently in Germany, Croatia, Spain, France, England, Finland and United States.
