Italian pianist and composer Francesco Di Fiore began performing as a concert pianist across Europe and America in the mid-1990s. He now focuses almost exclusively on his activities as a composer, writing music which has been performed internationally and includes pieces for solo piano, piano and orchestra, chamber music, choral music, electronic music and music for spoken theatre. He often works with his partner, the visual artist Valeria Di Matteo, on 'multimedia' pieces which, as in this case, include projected visuals. The programme of piano solo includes his original music along with pieces by American minimalist Philip Glass, French impressionist Erik Satie, Dutch composer Douwe Eisenga and the Japanese film composer and pianist Ryuichi Sakamoto.
