Pianosequenza, live concert with Italian premiere

Waiting for the album release, Pianosequenza will be meanwhile performed live with Valeria Di Matteo’s visuals on Monday August 10, 2015  in San Baronto (Pistoia, IT), Parco La Fraschetta, 21:00, at XVIII Musicarte Montalbano Festival.
The program also includes the Italian première of Suite from Secret Journey by Italian composer Marco Betta. Secret Journey (Viaggio Segreto) is a film directed by Roberto Andò and scored by Marco Betta, winner of the Nastro D’Argento for Best Cinematography.

Guitar Concerto

Francesco just finished composing his new Concerto for Guitar and Orchestra commissioned by Italian guitarist Lapo Vannucci. The Guitar Concerto will be premiered next year and then it will be part of a recording project about that you will be updated in due time. The Guitar Concerto is in four movements and about 30 minutes of duration.

New CD Pianosequenza available from September 4, 2015

Zefir Records presents Pianosequenza, a new solo album by Francesco Di Fiore, containing music from film scores by Philip Glass (The Truman Show and The Hours), Yann Tiersen (Amélie), Michael Nyman (The Piano, A Zed and Two Noughts and The Diary of Anne Frank), William Susman (When Medicine Got It Wrong) and Di Fiore himself (At Precisely Six O’Clock).

Pianosequenza will be released Friday, September 4, 2015 by Dutch label Zefir Records, internationally distributed by Bertus. Naxos Records will distribute Pianosequenza also in USA and Canada and in digital worldwide.

Premiere Double Concerto

January 18, 2015 Tre Paesaggi (Three Landscapes), double concerto for guitar, piano and orchestra, has been premiered in Bacău (Romania).
Soloists Lapo Vannucci and Luca Torrigiani have performed with the Bacău Philharmonic Orchestra “Mihail Jora” conducted by Valentin Doni. Then it was also performed in Râmnicu Vâlcea Filarmonica “Ion Dumitrescu” conducted by Mihail Ștefănescu.
Tre Paesaggi consists of three movements titled: Alba (Sunrise), Vette (Peaks), Maestrale (Mistral).

At Precisely Six O’ Clock (Ore Diciotto In Punto)

Ore Diciotto In Punto (At Precisely Six O’ Clock), film directed by Giuseppe Gigliorosso, will be in theaters form June 12, 2014. The soundtrack, written by Francesco in 2012, is performed by the author himself at the piano as well as by exceptional musicians such as cellist Giovanni Sollima, the instrumental ensemble GliArchiEnsemble and the extraordinary singer Oriana Civile.
The soundtrack was recorded at RAI Palermo by Sergio Mezzatesta, mixed and edited by Maurizio Curcio.

American première

On March 7, 2014 in San Francisco the American premiere of the suite for piano four hands The West Coast Point Of View will be performed.
The extraordinary renowned ZOFO Duet will perform the suite as part of the Old First Concerts season at a contemporary music concert with four premieres.

Francesco will attend this important event and will cure a brief introduction of his work to the public of the concert. The West Coast Point Of View consists of 6 movements inspired by and dedicated to the city of San Francisco after his first visit to the town. Each movement describes a place or particular emotions evoked by the city. The movements are Sausalito, Golden Bridge, The Poetry Room, The Great Chinese Dragon, Changing Lights, Pier 39.

Play 709 in Germany

On April 2, 2014, the well-known contemporary music ensemble Piccola Accademia degli Specchi will perform Play 709, chamber music written specifically for the ensemble, dedicated to composer Matteo Sommacal. The concert is one of the highlights of a festival of minimal music called International Minimal Music Festival which is held annually in Kassel, Germany. Glass

French pianist Nicolas Horvath, well-known for his marathon concerts, events non-stop up to 12 hours in length, will perform on April 11, 2014, the world premiere of Glass, commissioned to Francesco by Horvath for a particular event to be held in Paris at the Palais de Tokyo. The concert, Philip Glass Marathon, involves the complete works for piano by Philip Glass and also other compositions by contemporary artists inspired by and dedicated to the great American composer.

New Double Concerto

Francesco has just composed a new “double concerto” commissioned by Italian guitarist Lapo Vannucci and Italian pianist Luca Torrigiani. It will be premiered in 2015 and then toured through Italy and abroad. This is scored for solo guitar, solo piano and string orchestra. The piece consists of three movements and its title is Tre Paesaggi (Three Landscapes).
